Fishing for sturgeon on the Fraser has improved the past couple days, Tom, Thomas and Braeden have been out the past couple days and had some good success. Water levels are the Fraser have receded slightly from last week but we are expecting another jump later this week.
There was some nice fish caught between 3 to 6 feet but nothing too large the past few days, best baits have been Lamprey, eels and salmon roe.
Speaking of salmon , the annual salmon migrations of the Fraser have started with our early summer run of Chinook. These fish are protected so if you are wanting to fish for salmon we are offering daily salmon fishing trips from our Vancouver location.
The Pitt River fishery is just getting started, Thomas will be up fishing this week and will begin offering fly fishing and light tackle spin fishing for sea-run bull trout up to 10 lbs. June is the best month for these early migrating fish so this is the time to give this fishery a try.
Salmon fishing in the Gulf Islands continues to produce good results, trolling spoons, hoochies and anchovi are all working. The new Gibbs Guide series flashers re kicking butt out there so stop in at your favorite tackle store and ask for them. I would highly recommend the STS UV Glo or the Bon Chovi UV Glo, these two flashers are working well in the colored water that is now coming from the Fraser.
The above flasher is the Gibb/Delta STS UV Glo Flasher, fished with a G-force uv glo spoon can be deadly, be sure to ask your local tackle store.
Hope you all have a great week
