Sept 16 FIshing Report

Fishing continues to be excellent for both salmon and sturgeon. We have been catching limits of salmon on all of our trips as well as some very large and healthy sturgeon.

This great fishing should continue through until end of September then we switch our focus to Chum, Coho and Fall Chinook.

The other day I hooked my first Chinook fishing spoons at the mouth of the Vedder, this would indicate that these fish are now starting to move into the Chilliwack river system

Casey & Iris visting us from Edmonton are having a trip of a lifetime, 20 sturgeon in one day with several fish over 7 ft. I think they are going home with longer arms.

Our group of Irish fly fisherman are having a blast, lots of Pink Salmon on the fly.

Here is a first salmon of the year, great job Huey.

The Pink salmon are spread throughout the Fraser River, if you can find some clearer water in a back channel to will find that fish are biting better than in the main channel.

These guys from MFP Edmonton are having a blast, too bad they have to go home now.

As you can see, fishing is great, all of our guests are going home with big smiles and sore arms, can’t ask for much more than that.

Hope you have a great week and see you on the water.

Sept 8 Fishing report

Fishing for Pink Salmon has been rediculous, Doug landed over 100 fish on a full day charter. We are mostly fishing with light spin tackle but fly fishing is also producing some great fish. The fish are quite large this year which means that there was lots of feed in the ocean this past year.

I pulled up beside Dougs boat and ask our guest from Alberta to get me a triple header for a picture, within seconds we had a double header and lost the 3rd.

The weather has been amazing, summer has arrived, just a bit late. Everyone is having a great time on the water catching loads of salmon and some big sturgeon

I was up fishing one of my private holes in a unknown location and this 6 ft 4 inch fish put up a battle that was worthy of a 8 ft fish. Our guests from Quebec got their butts handed to them by this brute.

Speaking of large sturgeon, this was monster fish measuring 7 ft 2 that we landed just a few hours ago, we hooked another one same or bigger just after landing this one. Great fishing all day .

Fishing Report for Sept 7

Fishing has been very good for both salmon and sturgeon, millions of Pink Salmon are moving into the Fraser as well as a late run of sockeye and some larger than average Chinook.

Water clarity on the Fraser is improving daily but we are still mostly fishing tributary confluences where water clarity is better.

This nice Chinook was caught today out at the mouth of the Fraser.

Vancouver Salmon Fishing.

Fishing in Vancouver has been good all week, we are hooking sockeye, pink salmon and the occasional Chinook Salmon. Sockeye is now closed to retention in the saltwater but remains open in the Fraser above Mission. If you are wanting to catch sockeye, our river jet boat trips are available out of Mission. If you want to target the late run of Chinook, water conditions are best in the ocean. We have been fishing the mouth of the North Arm, South Arm, T-10 and Q A Marker. Fish are moving along the shoreline so no need to go out too far.

Here are some pinks and sockeye caught on our ocean charters yesterday, great job guys.

Fraser River Sturgeon

Sturgeon fishing has been good throughout the river, lots of big fish being caught in the Mission area. Best bait has been stink bait but we are also catching fish on fresh sockeye and pink roe.

Fishing will continue to improve as more salmon move into the river.

Overall salmon and sturgeon fishing has been great, all of our guests are going home with big smiles and sore arms. Our Canyon trips are very busy and water is getting big. Come and join us for some of the best fishing of the season.
