ATTENTION ANGLERS : THE FRASER RIVER OPENS TO SALMON FISHING AUGUST 1, NO BOTTOM BOUNCING FOR SALMON PERMITTED

Please Read – As you can see above the Fraser will open for salmon fishing on August 1st, lots of hard work by industry leaders to get the river open so please don’t blow it by going out and bottom bouncing. Why, because sockeye numbers are still low and only Chinook salmon are open to anglers. When bottom bouncing anglers will intercept sockeye which is not permitted so end result is the river will be closed if anglers do not use selective fishing methods.

The Fraser is slowly dropping and clearing up very quickly, it won’t take long before anglers are able to consistently catch Chinook using Bar Fishing Methods , if your not sure how to do this, use this link to access past articles written by Vic Carrao on Bar Fishing the Fraser . http://guidebc.com/articles/chinookfishingonfraser.asp

Sturgeon fishing has been excellent this past month, not big numbers but big fish and that’s what sturgeon fishing is all about. All of our regular guides have been consistently catching fish between 5 to 9 ft and by the way things are going it’s not going to stop anytime soon. Yesterday my first fish was 8ft 3 and we didn’t land anything under 6ft all day. August through to November is primetime, Now’s the time to book.

Our West Coast Salmon and Halibut Charters are going well, if you are looking to catch some amazing Coho, we are getting them right now in the 10 to 15lb range along wioth some big Ling Cod and limits of Halibut on a daily basis.

2016 is shaping up to be a great fishing season and it’s only getting started. We still have lots of available dates, come join us for the 2016 season.

Have a great day
