Fraser River Sturgeon
The Fraser River is in great shape, water clarity is good, temperatures are at 40F and rising. We had several trips out this week with good success landed 9 fish in a 4 hour trip and 12 fish on a 8 hour charter. Our largest fish this week was just over 6 ft but had a couple other larger fish. Best baits have been Eulachon, lamprey eel and salmon roe with Eulachon producing best results. There is good fishing from Langley through to Agassiz and we will see this improve even further over the next few week.
Vancouver salmon
We had a trip out on Friday fishing Tungstal Bay and Vancouver Harbour, 1 keeper chinook and released a few undersized as well as a good haul of crab and prawns. Fishing for salmon has been fair to good and will remain this way for several more weeks then we should start to see some bigger fish and better numbers in mid to late April. We were using the new Gibbs STS UV Glo flasher with the new Gibbs/Delta G-Force spoons
Jet Boat Tours
We still have a few seats for our May 2 Hope to Hells Gate jet boat tour, cost is $129 per person, also still have space on our April 20 sturgeon seminar. If you would like to book one of our seminars or a salmon or sturgeon trip , please call or e-mail us sts or 604-671-3474
Vedder Steelhead
It’s been a great week for steelhead on the Vedder, lots of fish being caught throughout the river. Most of the fish we are getting on b eing caught on salmon eggs but many other baits and lures will work. Spring is a great time to use artificials such as Colorado blades, Ironhead spoons, single egg patterns and yarn. For fly fishers those large maribou fly’s work well as well as stone fly’s in brown or black.
We will be out on the water all week chasing salmon, steelhead and sturgeon, if your looking to get out, give us a call
Hope you have a great week
