Fishing Report for Sept 7

Fishing has been very good for both salmon and sturgeon, millions of Pink Salmon are moving into the Fraser as well as a late run of sockeye and some larger than average Chinook.

Water clarity on the Fraser is improving daily but we are still mostly fishing tributary confluences where water clarity is better.

This nice Chinook was caught today out at the mouth of the Fraser.

Vancouver Salmon Fishing.

Fishing in Vancouver has been good all week, we are hooking sockeye, pink salmon and the occasional Chinook Salmon. Sockeye is now closed to retention in the saltwater but remains open in the Fraser above Mission. If you are wanting to catch sockeye, our river jet boat trips are available out of Mission. If you want to target the late run of Chinook, water conditions are best in the ocean. We have been fishing the mouth of the North Arm, South Arm, T-10 and Q A Marker. Fish are moving along the shoreline so no need to go out too far.

Here are some pinks and sockeye caught on our ocean charters yesterday, great job guys.

Fraser River Sturgeon

Sturgeon fishing has been good throughout the river, lots of big fish being caught in the Mission area. Best bait has been stink bait but we are also catching fish on fresh sockeye and pink roe.

Fishing will continue to improve as more salmon move into the river.

Overall salmon and sturgeon fishing has been great, all of our guests are going home with big smiles and sore arms. Our Canyon trips are very busy and water is getting big. Come and join us for some of the best fishing of the season.
