Oct 17 Fishing Report Update

Fraser River

Sturgeon fishing continues to be good, yesterday we landed over 50 fish between 5 boats, several fish over 7ft were landed, quite a few in the 4 to 6 ft range.

The tides are playing an important role right now, best to fish the incoming to high slack, once tides turns the bite is off and fishing slows considerably. Having the right bait is critical right now, we are hearing that many guides are struggling out on the water, if you have the tides dialed and good bait you should do just fine.

This fish was landed yesterday, measured 96 x 44, what a great fish, nice job Jerome,

Fraser Salmon

Salmon fishing on the Fraser is excellent right now, bar fishing or plunking with tee spoons has been producing some great fish. Yesterday STS Guide Jerry Dewar and our guest from Ireland landed a 40 lb chrome bullet on the fly, I should have the pic later today to post, what a fish. Coho fishing has also been excellent, fishing the bars on the Fraser is your best bet. You can either cast spoons or bar fish, either one is working. Fly fishing is also producing some beautiful fish if your willing to work for them.

Chum fishing is slow although the Stave and Harrison are starting to see some numbers migrate through, float fishing with jigs or fly fishing is your best bet.

Jess caught this bright chum on the Stave yesterday evening, nice fish Jess.

If your wanting to expereince some great salmon and sturgeon fishing we are still booking trips for the next 3 weeks. Fishing for both salmon and sturgeon should not only continue but improve until mid to late November.

Fishing Report For Oct 12, 2011

Fraser Salmon

Fishing for salmon has been fair to good, we are working for every fish but well worth the effort. Some really nice Coho and Chinook being caught this week both wild and hatchery.

The Chum salmon are starting to show up in better numbers the past couple days but still way down from past runs. The Stave seems to have more chum than most other local rivers.

This hatchery Coho was caught on the Harrison Confluence a few days ago.

Vedder River is producing some excellent Coho fishing, the rain has dirty the water but if it stops tomorrow as expected, the weekend should be excellent fishing. We have been catching some nice Coho as the confluence casting spinner and plunking spoons.

This Wild coho was quickly release today after a great battle on light tackle.

Fraser Sturgeon

Sturgeon fishing has been fair to good, most trips are split between salmon and sturgeon so 4 to 6 fish has been average. if you put the full day in for sturgeon you should be able to land 6 to 12 fish.

Over the next few weeks sturgeon fishing should improve which will take us into our November fishery.

This 8 ft 10 inch sturgeon was landed today by STS Guide Doug Elias and John Hunt from Hunt TV. Doug and John are filming a sturgeon episode fopr the 2011/12 season.

Tight lines and don’t forget there is still lots of great fishing over the next 6 weeks.

Couple nice fish

Fishing for large fish continues to be excellent. As you can see by the pictures below, we are catching some nice fish. Today we found a bunch of Coho using spinners and even managed to land a couple chum on float rods. Plunking with Tee Spoons and spin n glo’s is also producing some nice Coho and the odd Chinook in both the Fraser and Harrison Rivers.

Over the next few days we should see some larger pushes of Coho, Chum and Harrison Chinook enter the Fraser, fishing tributary confluences is going to be the best bet.

The Vedder should also start producing some nice Coho.

Our friends from the UK are now on the Island enjoyed some bear watching, here are a couple nice fish before they left.

Great day sturgeon fishing in the Mission area. Our 28ft twin has plenty of room for battling the big one and enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the water.

Nice Job boys.Hope you see a Grizzly.

This monster sturgeon was hooked only minutes from our dock, it put up a great battle lasting over 30 minutes. Mission is labeled Sturgeon Capital of the World for good reason, the fall season is without a doubt the best time to fish for monster sturgeon.

Come join us while fishing is great.
