Great day for IRL International Truck Centers

Good Day with guests from IRL today fishing with Vic & Renee in the Fraser Canyon. Vic still has a couple dates open for early October in the Canyon and we also have trips out of Mission Harbour available.

This beast measured over 8ft with a 48.5 inch girth and put up a great battle before being released unharmed back into the Fraser River. Sturgeon fishing is consistent year round but October is one of our busiest months for salmon and sturgeon fishing on the Fraser.

Salmon fishing has been fair to excellent this past week, bar fishing for Chinook salmon has been good as well as spoon fishing for Coho in tributary rivers. Over the next few weeks fishing will greatly improve as more Coho, Chinook and Chum salmon enter the Fraser. October is one of our best months for fishing salmon using all methods including fly fishing and of course the sturgeon fishing just gets better by the day.

Bar fishing for Chinook Salmon is the most productive way to catch them. Green Cap Chrome or Red Cap Chrome are great choices as is plunking with a GibbsDelta Tee Spoon.

Good choice for location would be Harrison Bar, Hendersons, Bowmans, or top end of Queens.

If you haven’t booked your Fall fishing trip, its never too late. Give us a call 604-671-3474 or email at sts

Have a great week

Sept 5 Fishing update

What a great long weekend out on the Fraser River, lots of big sturgeon and some excellent salmon fishing. Sockeye retention is now closed but salmon fishing is still open on the Fraser. You can fly fish, bar fish or spin fish for salmon or use any method but bottom bouncing. Bottom bouncing with a long leader is used for catching sockeye which is now closed so please do not use this method.

Chinook salmon fishing is one of our favorite out on the Fraser, you can best target Chinook Salmon using a method called Bar Fishing. If you would like to learn more about Bar Fishing for Chinook, have a look at an old article written by long time Fraser River Fishing Guide Vic Carrao @ https://www.guidebc.com/chinook-fishing-on-the-fraser-river-above-mission/

September and October are the two best months for fishing the Fraser for both salmon and sturgeon, our weekend dates in September are almost sold out but we do have some good dates available for October and early November. Nows the time to book your Fall Fraser River Fishing Adventure if you haven’t done so already.

If you are looking for a guided fishing trip on the Fraser, please give us a call at 604-671-3474 or send us an e-mail at sts

Have a great day

August 22 update

Fishing in the Fraser Valley has been nothing short of excellent. The Fraser River continues to be open for salmon and sturgeon fishing with most of our guests taking home their limits of sockeye and the occasional Chinook Salmon. The salmon run this year has been one of the biggest runs we have seen in quite a few years, we are hopeful that this great fishing will continue through to the end of the season.

The best fishing has just got started so anytime between now and end of October is a great time to experience this world class fishery. We are currently fishing for sockeye and Chinook salmon but it wont be long before the Coho and Chum salmon begin to arrive.

The Sturgeon fishing has been excellent, a few slow days but that is expected even in peak season when those monster sturgeon take a short break from feasting on fresh sockeye salmon. We have had some amazing catches with many fish between 6 to 9 feet.

I would like to take this time to wish our good friend Don Stokes of Humminbird the very best and thank you for all you have done for STS and our west coast fishery. Don is moving back to Ontario to pursue other interests so he will be sorely missed in our region. When Don first arrived in BC Humminbird fish finders were rarely seen or used on the Fraser, with Don’s vision and hard work, Humminbird is now #1 in the freshwater fishing scene in both British Columbia and Alberta. Thanks again Don and good luck form all of us at STS.

If you’re looking for a late summer or Fall fishing trip, we still have some good dates available so please feel free to give us a call or shoot us an e-mail. We would love to have you out this season.
